The divestiture follows ongoing criticism from shareholders who opposed Masimo’s 2022 acquisition of the audio assets, arguing it diluted strategic focus and undermined valuation. The sale to Harman marks a significant reversal, with proceeds expected to support Masimo’s medical innovation pipeline and balance sheet strength.

The deal also bolsters Harman’s premium audio portfolio, reinforcing its leadership in connected car and home entertainment systems. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, but analysts see the move as a course correction for Masimo and a strategic win for Harman’s consumer electronics division.

corpbrief insight:

When strategy drifts, investors speak — and Masimo listened. This divestiture shows how market pressure can force a sharper, more focused return to core business value.
