Molson Coors is preparing for a major leadership handoff, announcing that longtime CEO Gavin Hattersley will retire in September 2024 after more than two decades with the company.

Hattersley has served as Chief Executive Officer since 2019 and played a key role in steering the company through a multiyear revitalization strategy, including a global rebrand, portfolio expansion beyond beer, and supply chain modernization. He will remain in his role through the transition period.
Stepping in as his successor is Michelle St. Jacques, currently Chief Commercial Officer. St. Jacques will become the company’s first female CEO and brings deep experience in brand building, innovation, and commercial execution from her time at both Molson Coors and previously Kraft Heinz.
The leadership change reflects Molson Coors’ continued evolution from a traditional beer company into a modern beverage player, with a diversified portfolio spanning beer, spirits, energy drinks, and non-alcoholic options.
corpbrief insight:
Leadership transitions are more than a baton pass — they’re directional markers. With Michelle St. Jacques stepping in, Molson Coors is signaling a next chapter shaped by brand agility, commercial sharpness, and portfolio reinvention.
