PepsiCo has acquired full ownership of Sabra and Obela, two leading brands in the refrigerated dips category, as it aims to expand its footprint in high-growth, plant-based snacking segments globally.

Previously joint ventures with Israel-based Strauss Group, the move gives PepsiCo complete control over both brands. Sabra is a dominant player in the U.S. hummus market, while Obela operates in international markets including Mexico, Australia, and parts of Europe.
With the acquisition, PepsiCo plans to accelerate innovation, streamline operations, and scale distribution of both brands across retail and foodservice channels. The strategy reflects PepsiCo’s push to diversify beyond traditional salty snacks and meet growing consumer demand for health-forward, flavor-rich options.
