The platform, developed in partnership with IT provider Robosoft Technologies, is already live in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with plans to scale across more developing markets. Designed to replace fragmented, manual systems, the tool helps small shopkeepers manage inventory, receive promotional pricing, and access tailored product recommendations — all in real time.

The move reflects Unilever’s broader push to build smarter, more resilient last-mile networks while deepening relationships with informal retailers, who account for a significant share of FMCG sales in emerging economies.

corpbrief insight:

In high-growth markets, efficiency isn’t enough — enablement is everything. Unilever’s AI-powered approach shows how tech can empower micro-retailers while giving brands better visibility into the true edge of demand.
